Kronos offers a wide range of programs for various age groups and skill levels, including:
Elite Squad (ages 16+): High-performance athletes focused on national and international draft-legal races.
Junior Squad (ages 16-19): Athletes aiming to develop advanced skills in triathlon.
Development Squad (ages 14-17): For new athletes or those advancing from youth squads.
Youth Squad (ages 10-13): Full-season programs focused on foundational skills.
Swim Bike Play! (ages 2-9): Introduction to basic swimming, biking, and running through fun activities.
Seasonal Youth Programs (ages 10-13): Focused on swimming, cycling, and running skills development, these programs are offered seasonally throughout the year:
Fall Program: October to December
WinterProgram: January to April
Spring Program: May to June
SummerProgram: July to August
These programs provide progressive training and physical literacy development, with each season offering a unique blend of indoor and outdoor activities tailored to young athletes' growth and fitness.

To register for any of Kronos Triathlon Club’s programs, please visit our Registration Page.
Elite Squad: Athletes interested in the Elite Squad must fill out the Application Form before being considered for the program. Approval from the Head Coach is required, and athletes must meet the performance prerequisites.
Junior Squad: No special application or permissions are required for the Junior Squad, but athletes should meet the performance criteria before enrolling.
Development Squad and Other Programs: The Development Squad is open to athletes aged 14-17 who meet the swimming requirements.
Other programs, such as the Youth Squad, Swim Bike Play!, and Seasonal Youth Programs, have open enrollment, though participants must meet age and skill prerequisites. Be sure to check the individual program schedules and Performance prerequisites on our Programs Page for more details.

Yes, all members of any Kronos Triathlon Club program must have a current valid Triathlon Alberta Membership to participate in any club training sessions.

Kronos follows a structured Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, guiding athletes through stages like Active Start (ages 2-9), FUNdamentals (ages 10-13), and Train to Compete for more experienced athletes.
The LTAD ensures gradual skill development, fostering both competitive and recreational participation .

Full Season Membership: This membership includes access to the Elite, Junior, Development, and Youth Full Season programs. Full Season Members are eligible for voting rights and board positions.
Partial Season Membership: This membership covers the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer Youth Programs as well as the Swim Bike Play! programs. Partial Season Members participate during specific months and are not eligible for board positions.

The Future Champions Program is designed to provide young athletes with access to bikes and additional training resources to help them develop their triathlon skills.
There is a program fee of $200 that helps us continue to ensure bikes are in safe working condition and replace program bikes when needed.
The program follows a set timeline:
September - October: Application period.
November - January: Athlete selection and notification.
April: Bikes are allocated and handed out.
September: Bikes are returned back to the club.

The Coach Mentorship Program helps develop experienced athletes into competent coaches.
The program is open to anyone who is at least 14 years of age at the start of the season.
It runs through August 2025, includes at least 25 coaching practicum hours, and offers long-term opportunities to become paid coaches at Kronos
Successful applicants for the program must also complete one of the following Triathlon Alberta coaching courses:
CALGARY: October 5-6, 2024, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the MNP Centre.
VIRTUAL: December 21-22, 2024, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.

Successful Coach Mentorship participants who complete the program will be reimbursed for the coaching course upon signing a paid coaching contract with the club.

Kronos Triathlon Club is based in Calgary, Alberta, primarily utilizing the MNP Community & Sport Centre located near downtown. During winter, athletes train in this world-class facility, which includes a state-of-the-art cycling studio equipped with the latest technology.
In the outdoor season, swimming sessions continue at MNP Community & Sport Centre, while cycling and running training takes place mainly at North Glenmore Park.
Additionally, some programs use the pool at Mount Royal University, the running paths in Lindsay Park, and various advanced cycling locations around the city.

Programs cater to children, teens, and elite young adults, offering opportunities for beginners and high-level competitors, including those preparing for the Olympics/Paralympics.
